Drone Wall, Japan’s THeMIS Trials, and Estonia’s Expanding Missile Cap

This issue highlights Europe’s growing push to build a Drone Wall against Russian hybrid threats, with DefSecIntel and Origin Robotics teaming up to deliver integrated counter-drone systems. Japan’s Ground Self-Defense Force begins testing Estonia’s Milrem Robotics THeMIS UGV, while Milrem prepares to deliver over 150 units to Ukraine. The U.S. raises Estonia’s missile sales cap to €4.7 billion, enabling expanded HIMARS and ATACMS acquisitions. Other key stories include Latvia’s rise as a drone technology superpower, Lithuania’s major mobilisation exercise, and a new Estonia–Ukraine cyber project training 500 specialists. We also explore Japan’s deepening interest in Estonian battlefield-tested technologies and the Baltic states’ growing role in Europe’s energy security architecture.
